Our September star of the month
We love our team here at Windsor Telecom, and enjoy recognising people who go above and beyond for our customers and colleagues. This month, we crowned Osman Ahmed as our star of the month for his constant support of his colleagues, and being an instrumental part in launching new products and projects company-wide.
Osman joined Windsor as a Business Analyst and Project Coordinator, and has quickly become a vital part of the team, as he is often the backbone of important projects and launches. Get an insight into his in and out of hours activities.
I’ve been at Windsor for 2 years next month, it’s flown by! Previously, I was doing Data & IT Projects at McLaren which naturally drove me into a Business Analyst role.
I manage processes & business impacting projects. More recently, product development is something I’ve picked up which I’m finding really interesting – getting to learn about our range of new and upcoming products. I’m currently working with our development team to understand and move projects forward.
I’m not sure if it’s necessarily considered wisdom, but just get stuck in to any project or task even when you’re not fully sure if you can do it. I’ve found that this has helped me pick up new skills that I otherwise wouldn’t have learnt. This also opens up doors for me to progress my career and find new things that I enjoy doing in my job role that I wouldn’t have necessarily known I was interested in.
I feel the industry has become a lot more mainstream as the need for connectivity and communications keeps growing; therefore all roles across the industry are becoming more sought after.
5. What’s your favourite project you’ve worked on at Windsor? Why?
It would have to be working on our Cloud Telephony offerings and options. It’s great to be able to pull data via an API to build on top and create a brand new solution. We did this brilliantly with our Call Manager Plus product which gives our customers the ability to better manage queues and agent availability, so a light-touch contact management capability at a fraction of the price of a full blown cloud contact centre.
I like to play badminton and cycle regularly with friends. I also enjoy playing football, Airsoft and online gaming.
My phone – like most people I know! It might seem a little cliche considering my industry but it’s true.
I used to compete in a lot of Go-Karting competitions, and I’ve won a fair few trophies! It’s still a big hobby of mine, and will continue to be for while.
Being able to fly, and have the freedom to go anywhere without any traffic! Traffic is one of my biggest irritations!
In no particular order, mine would probably have to be-
– Elon Musk: To learn all about the latest and greatest in Technology, like the new AI robot, and also the reason he wants to buy Twitter.
– David Attenborough: To explore his knowledge about the natural world and see how he’s seen the world change in his lifetime as well as his future predictions about climate change, and most importantly what we can do to help.
– Muhammad Ali: To talk about his best achievements & how he felt when he got to the top, despite the struggle, and if the struggle made the achievement even sweeter.
Thanks Osman, great getting to know you and we’re so happy to have you as part of the Windsor team!
