How to port your phone number

Many customers want to keep their existing telephone number when changing service providers; this is where number porting comes in to play.

Number porting is simply the process whereby telephone numbers are transferred between different operators. At Windsor Telecom we offer this service for free to new customers who switch over to us.

How does it work?

Getting your number ported over to us is very straightforward; we have portability agreements set up with a wide range of operators including: BT, Virgin and NTL (to name a few). The switch over to Windsor Telecom normally takes between 10 to 20 days and we will keep you updated on your request.

Before a number can be transferred across to our operating services, we will need to ensure that the number in question can actually be ported across; if so, we will manage the entire process for you.

Protocols laid out by the industry regulator will be followed throughout the porting procedure, so you have peace of mind that the service we provide is legit, efficient and hassle-free.

You must keep the current service live as we will need the number to be active in order to port it across to our system. All bills and payments must also be up to date to ensure there are no issues with your existing operator.

Next, download our porting notice application form which is available here. Fill out all the relevant sections and then fax this across along with the most recent bill from your network. You can then leave the process in our hands as we will take it from there.
