Channel Manager
Work Smart - with Windsor Telecom

Location: Farnham, Surrey
Salary: Competitive salary based on experience

Job Overview:
To manage the company’s overall relationship with reseller/dealer partners, educating, promoting & sharing best practice with them, to increase sales and revenue generation opportunities, maintaining effective lines of communication internally & externally and actively contribute to Windsor Telecom’s commitment to continuous improvement at individual, team & company level.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the development and effectiveness of the reseller/dealer partnerships in line with agreed      business plan/specific targets.
• Track and manage achievement of project milestones to agreed timescales, when rolling out    new products to partners. Liaise with internal departments to ensure deadlines are adhered to.
• Pro-actively recruit new resellers with existing NGN Traffic.
• Develop/co-ordinate effective activities and communication and internally within Windsor Telecom in relation to partnership development.
• Manage/improve the partnership reseller/dealer support function, track/analyse results and    produce regular management information reports.
• Manage and co-ordinate introduction of new Windsor products and support services to    reseller/dealer partners.
• Maximise all PR opportunities in relation to Windsor reseller/dealer partnerships.
• Make regular visits to reseller /dealer partners, co-ordinate all training in-house and on-site.
• Work with reseller /dealer partners to effectively promote and sell on Windsor products and    services to their clients’ local markets.
• Work with reseller /dealer partners to create sales plans to create future additional revenue streams for Windsor Telecom.
• Work with reseller /dealer partners to create market opportunities and analysis of plans, advise    on how they can serve specific client groups.
• Track, analyse & make recommendations regarding pricing, as well as placement of products.
• Manage possible conflicts between reseller/dealer partners and Windsor’s sales function.
• Maintain awareness and knowledge of marketplace and telecommunications sector relevant to   role purpose.
• Maintaining records, systems and controls to maximise efficiency and effective dissemination of    information.

Job Overview:
Development and customisation of Windsor Telecom’s IT platform, and to its e-commerce website and provide enhanced functionality of all IT related systems and process to increase efficiency across the organisation at all levels.

Key Responsibilities

• Development of features and extensions to Windsor Telecom’s e-Commerce website.
• Maintaining and improving back-office systems and tools to support sales, service delivery and products/pricing packages.
• Provision of statistical reports as required by Directors and management.
• Lead on creation, build, implementation and ongoing development of company intranet.
• Assisting with development of current systems and implementation of new systems.
• Ensuring IT contributes to Windsor Telecom’s growth objectives and improves bottom line.

Common Questions

How does Windsor Telecom’s hiring process work?

Our selection and hiring process makes sure your application is dealt with efficiently and normally includes:

Initial telephone interview
Some roles require an initial telephone screening interview. This will take no more than 15 minutes. Following this, you will be advised if you have been successful in being selected for face to face interview within 2 days.

First Interview (Face to Face)
Interviews are normally held at our office in Farnham and conducted by our recruitment manager and possibly the hiring line manager and typically last up to 1 hour. For some client facing roles, you may be asked to take part in a telephone role play. You will be notified in advance if this is the case and a brief will be provided. For some administration roles, you may be required to take a keyboard/computer literacy test. Again you will be advised in advance if this is the case. After interview you will be notified if you have been selected for second interview usually within 3 days.

Second Interview (Face to Face)
Second interviews are an opportunity to meet with your prospective line manager and in some cases fellow team members. The interview panel may consist of up to three people. For senior management roles, or sales roles you may be set a task which could include a presentation. After a second interview you will receive feedback and be notified of whether or not an offer of employment is being made. Feedback from second interviews is usually provided within 2-5 days of attending interview.

Pre-Employment Screening
All offers of employment with Windsor Telecom are strictly subject to satisfactory completion of our standard application form which covers all necessary pre-employment screening and take up of suitable references.

Do your research prior to interview
People often fail at interview due to lack of preparation beforehand. Make sure that you understand what the company does and the services it provides. You should have a good understanding of the position you are applying for before you attend the interview. You should aim to identify what competitors exist and it is advisable when attending an interview to have some wider knowledge of the company and its marketplace. Most importantly, make sure you have questions ready for the interviewer. Plan your journey
Always arrive in plenty of time. In the event of unexpected delays, telephone the company to advise you will be delayed getting to the interview. Ensure you plan your journey well ahead of your interview.

Fresh out of University, I started Windsor Telecom in the Summer of 2008 as a
complete novice not only to sales, but also to full-time work!

I had a rocky start at Windsor Telecom, but fortunately, the sales director at the time acknowledged my natural ability to make both customers and new prospects feel very relaxed in any conversation, and wanted me to develop this "natural flair" to develop leads & customers.

Although still developing its training, Windsor Telecom have worked with others to bespoke an in-house training programme to meet the needs of each individual account manager which has given me the confidence to pursue my own style rather than follow the robotic scripts that other companies push.
