How do 0845 Numbers Work?

When you purchase your 0845 number we will ask you what telephone number you would like us to route it to, which is called your destination number. Your 0845 numbers do not replace any of your existing phone numbers, but work alongside them.

This could be your current business landline, mobile or home phone number. You will also get our complimentary Targetmaster Service, which allows you to change this destination number instantly, anywhere and at anytime.

You 0845 numbers are yours for life, so even if you relocate to new premises you simply change the destination number the day of the move for a hassle free relocation. Therefore, you will also never have to reprint any business cards, letterheads or leaflets etc.

What does Local Rate Mean?

You may have heard the term ‘local rate phone numbers’ with reference to 0845 numbers. This term has slowly become less relevant, with the introduction of mobile phones, special landline packages and bespoke rates etc.

When 0845 numbers where introduced the cost of calling them was the same as a local rate call. Therefore if you lived in London and called Manchester you would only pay a local rate. This is not the case anymore as different phone operators (BT, Virgin Media, 02, Vodaphone etc) charge a variety of prices.

From a standard BT landline, calling an 0845 number will cost 3.36p (Daytime), 0.85p (Evening) and 0.85p (Weekend). Other phone operators will vary.
