How 0300 & 0303 Numbers Work
Not a charity or not-for profit-organisation?

030 numbers (numbers starting with 0300 and 0303) are 'virtual' and sit on an existing landline or mobile, in exactly the same way as other non-geographic numbers (e.g. 0800). 030 numbers differ from other ranges as they are cheap to call - even from mobiles, which is perfect for non-profits not wanting to penalise mobile phone callers. Even traditional 0800 freephone numbers currently cost around 25p per minute to call from a mobile, which unsurprisingly, puts a lot of people off. Children in Need was one of the first charities to embrace 030 and now use this type of number every year during the annual telethon.
We like to think of 0300 numbers and 0303 numbers as being 'fair for all', meeting the ever-growing public demand for a recognisable phone number range which is cheap to call from a both a landline and mobile. Calls to both 0300 numbers and 0303 numbers cost the same as a normal landline number (even from a mobile), or are completely free if the caller has bundled minutes.
This is why a lot of smart charities and non-profits use 030, including: BBC, Transport for London, NHS, Met Police and countless smaller not-for-profit organisations.
Another great benefit of 0300 numbers and 0303 numbers is you can actually choose your telephone number! We have thousands of highly memorable numbers to choose from, helping callers to easily remember you. Charities Aid Foundation use our 0300 0123 456 number and you can even use digits related to your market. Do you offer an emergency service? If you do, imagine if your number included '999', like the RSPCA's 0300 1234 999 cruelty line.
When a customer dials your 030 number the call is instantly routed to your chosen landline or mobile number (referred to as your 'target'). Conveniently, you can change this target number at any time online using My Windsor, or via the phone with our Instant Call Rerouting service. 030 numbers can be set up quickly and you don't need to install and maintain any software or hardware.
Cost of Calling 03 Numbers from UK
Calls to 03 numbers cost no more than calls to geographic (01 and 02) numbers and must be included in inclusive minutes and discount schemes in the same way. Calls from landlines and mobiles are included in free call packages. It is also possible to call an 0300 or 0303 number from abroad.
How Do I Set-up an 03 Number?
It is easy to buy a 03 number. Simply choose an 0300 or 0303 number from the list above and add it to your basket. Then click either Buy Now or Free Trial. The whole process takes less than 3 minutes and your 03 number will be live the same day.
How much does an 03 number cost?
Prices start from just £15 per month. More memorable 03 numbers cost more (i.e. platinum and ultimate numbers attract a higher monthly charge). You get 5000 free minutes when the 03 number is routed to a UK landline - this is enough for most small businesses. If you receive more calls then you simply pay 1.5p per minute for additional minutes.
Diverting Your 03 Number to a Mobile Phone
You can choose to route all calls to your mobile and receive up to 250 call minutes per month for no additional cost. Extra minutes used over the 250 limit are charged at just 6p per minute. If you wish to receive calls both your landline and mobile, select our Mobile250 package for an additional £10 per month. There is also the option to use our Pay as You Go service (perfect if you wish to divert to your mobile on an occasional basis) - diverted calls are charged at 9.95p per minute. Fax To Email
You can also choose to use a 030 number as a Fax to Email line, where faxes are received via your email. This is a great alternative to having a fax machine, which is traditionally expensive what with the on-going maintenance and material costs. What's more, you don't need a physical landline if you choose Fax to Email, again, saving you a lot money.
